Favorite Punk, Alt, and Indie Music and Videos of 2023

Friends, it was an excellent year for music! A few of my favorite veteran bands released new tunes which is comforting for an older gent like me, but more importantly, I discovered a ton of stellar new artists. Finding and listening to new music is good for you. Look, you can listen to the same Pink Floyd and Radiohead records over and over and wait for the next Rolling Stones concert, that’s fine, no judgment (okay, some judgment) but there are bands and musicians out there right now making music just as awesome and also… better. Yes! I said “better!” Please take my hand and listen to this lovingly-curated playlist that is overflowing with indie, alternative, punk, shoegaze, power pop, and some other pretty meaningless genre names.
